All structures being place on plots need the prior approval of the Association Committee.
Applications should be made in writing or by email, detailing what is being applied for
and where on the plot it is intended to place the structure
Applications received are considered by the Association Committee at the next scheduled meeting - while the vast majority of applications made are approved, the Committee does reserve the right not to approve additional structures on plots that have serious or on-going cultivation problems
The permitted sizes and siting requirements for Sheds and Greenhouses can be found in the Site Rules and Code of Conduct
Poly-tunnels are allowed at the discretion of the committee and current policy is that they must not exceed the allowed size for a greenhouse on the plot and will only be approved as an alternative to a greenhouse.
Please see LAHA Site Rules and Code of Conduct 2024 for the full guidance.
Applications to install ponds should be made in the same way as for other structures
Ponds need to meet the criteria that they must be no bigger than 2m x 2m in size, no deeper than 60cm, have an integral slope to allow animals to exit the water, and are sited at least 1m from any path
Only pre-cast ponds or purpose made pond liners can be installed - no concrete, built materials, water tanks, or sanitary ware can be used
